Hand Forged
Fiction
NYC theatre professionals who refused to stop making art. Brother, Mine — a 9-part graphic audio drama. Music composed by Matt Parker.
Hand Forged Fiction is a group of New York City theatre, film, and live entertainment professionals — put out of work by the closing of Broadway, music venues, and Sleep No More during the pandemic. In the true spirit of "the show must go on," they rallied, reimagined, and got back to the work of creating art.
Their format is an homage to the Golden Era of 45 record storybooks brought into modern motion: a fully-realized soundscape, extraordinary voice actors, and immersive visual imagery. Portable, episodic storytelling — transportive and revelatory — in the solitude of your earbuds.
"A nine-part confluence of dramatic, aural, musical, graphic and illustration artistry."— Hand Forged Fiction on Brother, Mine
Matt Parker composed all music for Brother, Mine — a 9-part graphic audio drama. He also collaborated on Kierkbride, an immersive sound walk experience in 2022. The connection to HFF runs deep: it emerged from the same creative community that produced Sleep No More, making it exactly the kind of boundary-dissolving project Matt gravitates toward.

Malcolm O'Brien, a young man adopted into a life of advantage, returns to the neighborhood of his birth seeking credibility from a father he's never known. To determine his own destiny and apply privilege to a societal cause, he finds himself at odds with everyone he's ever called family — both old and new.
An immersive sound walk experience — site-specific, participant-led, and scored by Matt Parker. A different form of storytelling: one where the audience moves through the narrative rather than sitting before it.
