BYNK Records was founded by Matt Parker in 2013 with the release of his debut album, Worlds Put Together. What began as a practical solution — how do you release your music and actually own it? — became something more deliberate. A framework for making records the right way with people he trusted.

The label's roster reflects Matt's relationships, not a business strategy. Reggie Watkins, his collaborator of 20+ years, has released four albums on BYNK. Richard X Bennett, his co-conspirator in jazz-raga territory, released Parker Plays X — their first co-led session — on BYNK in 2023. Every release has been produced by Matt or in close collaboration with him.
